Industrifonden deepens its focus on Deep Tech by adding two experienced team members
Following the announcement of our increased investment pace for 2023, we’re happy to welcome two new members to the investment team – Tobias Elmquist and Sara Frykstrand Ångström (PhD). Both will focus on Deep Tech, as Industrifonden intensifies its search for unique, scalable ideas based on cutting edge science and technology innovations.

Tobias joins as Senior Investment Director and has more than 20 years of experience as an investor in the automotive, industrial and logistics sectors, including roles at Volvo Group Venture Capital, Chalmers Ventures, and Maersk Growth. In these roles he has led deals and helped grow companies in the EU, as well as in Israel and North America. Tobias brings an extensive network in the tech venture community. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Chalmers University of Technology.
Sara joins as Associate and has a background in chemistry and material science, as well as a deep knowledge of IP. She has previous experience from the start-up world, as well as working as a researcher and a patent expert. Sara holds a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Physics with focus on material science, both from Uppsala University. She has also studied at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
