‘Swedish Deep Tech Landscape 2025 – A Value Creation Roadmap for Deep Tech Companies’ provides an updated view on the funding of deep tech companies in Sweden. Further, in the report we present our view on the value creation of deep tech companies. We believe that the conventional model, structured around Seed, Series A, Series B, etc., fails to capture the value creation in deep tech companies and therefore introduce the following four phases to describe the value creation journey:
- Scientific Platform: Securing early capital and industry expertise meanwhile ensuring that the technology remains broadly applicable to multiple business verticals.
- Productization: Validate and develop the product outside of lab together with customers and partners to probe and prove the relevance of the technology.
- Industrialization: Demonstrate full-scale reliability for customers and partners to reduce the operating risk at switching.
- Scaling: Securing large contracts to ultimately capture the full commercial potential.
