Freemelt announces successful closing of SEK 66 million share issue
Freemelt, a pioneer within metal 3D-printing, announced today the closing of their latest financing. Industrifonden invested in the company in 2017 and joined the round together with new investors, including Coeli Circulus and Bengt Julander, and existing owners and management. Per Anell, Senior Investment Director at Industrifonden, will join the Board of Directors.
Freemelt, a company listed on Nasdaq First North, is a pioneer in the rapidly growing multi-billion metal 3D printing market with its unique electron beam technology. The company’s open-source platform and innovative technology enables additive manufacturing at extremely high temperatures, which makes it possible to use specialized metal alloys to develop new materials, shapes and applications for example in titanium, ultra-pure copper and tungsten.
Freemelt has created a strong and growing commercial position in the R&D market. The new funding will primarily be used to promote the commercial development as well as finalizing the development and launch of eMELT, the company’s industrial 3D metal printer.
Per Anell, Senior Investment Director, Industrifonden, said: ”We are impressed by Freemelt’s technology and the traction it gets from leading customers. The company is well positioned to address the attractive and rapidly growing metal 3D printing market, for R&D applications and now also targeting the significantly larger segment for industrial applications. We will use our previous experience from the success with Arcam to support the team toward their mission to transform the additive manufacturing industry.”
